iPad Battery Health

Introduction

I have an iPad Pro 11-inch 3rd Gen, which I bought in 2021. This iPad Pro with M1 chip is still very powerful in 2025 and I had almost no problem using it for my daily entertainment. The battery life of this iPad Pro, however, is not as good as it was in 2021, and I want to check the battery health of this iPad Pro. Unlike iPhone, iPad does not have a built-in battery health check feature.

In this blog post, I would like to share how to check the battery health of an iPad using iPad analytics.

iPad Analytics

The iPad analytics has to be enabled and more importantly shared. To enable and share iPad analytics, go to “Settings” -> “Privacy & Security” -> “Analytics & Improvements” and enable “Share iPad Analytics”.

We shall wait for a few days, then check the reports whose name end with “.synced” in “Analytics Data”. In the reports, we can find the battery remaining capacity via the key "last_value_MaximumCapacityPercent".

In my case, after having been using for more than 3 years, the battery remaining capacity of my iPad is 81%, although I feel the battery capacity of my iPad is worse than what is reported.
