Henry W. Coe State Park China Hole Trail Loop

Introduction

On September 13th, 2025, I visited Henry W. Coe State Park and hiked the China Hole Trail Loop. I found lots of wildlife along the way and took many photographs of them. The featured mostly ones are a Grey Fox waiting patiently for a Botta’s Pocket Gopher to pop out of its hole, then quickly pounce on it and catch it. It was an amazing sight to see and I was lucky to capture it on camera. Other wildlife I saw and photographed include Acorn Woodpeckers, Steller’s Jays, Western Bluebirds, California Scrub-Jays, California Quails, White-Breasted Nuthatch, Black-Tailed Deer, etc.
