Black Diamond Coal Mine Experience
Introduction
On August 15th, 2026, I attended the Black Diamond Coal Mine Experience after I hiked at the Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve. It was a guided educational tour that provided insights into the history of coal mining in the area and the working conditions of miners. The light conditions in the mine were challenging. I used a Sony FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM II lens that has a wide aperture of f/2.8, which allowed me to capture more light in the low-light environment of the mine. The tour also provided flashlights, which helped illuminate the mine and allowed better photography to some extent.
