Ohlone Wilderness Trail
Introduction
On July 25th, 2026, I went on a hike on Ohlone Wilderness Trail, starting from Sunol Wilderness Regional Preserve and heading towards Mission Peak in Mission Peak Regional Preserve. Along the way, I was able to photograph and identify a few new species of birds, including the Bimaculated Lark, Rock Wren, Rufous-Crowned Sparrow, Meadowlark, and Horned Lark, on Mission Peak. They were busy looking for foods and were not quite afraid of people. Therefore, I was able to get a few close-up shots of them. I also encountered a few Mule Deer on Ohlone Wilderness Trail. Some hikers I met on the trail told me that they even saw a little Mountain Lion.
