Introduction

On October 11th, I attended the San Francisco Fleet Week Air Show at McDowell Avenue for photography. It turns out to be a crowded public place where lots of people would gather for the event. Even though the background seems to be Alcatraz Island, it was hard for me to use that as the background for my photographs. I used a shutter speed of 1/3200s for shooting fast-moving aircraft. It was sufficient for freezing the motion of aircrafts in most of the scenarios. However, it is insufficient when two aircrafts are flying toward each other at high speeds. Maybe next time I should use a shutter speed of 1/5000s throughout the entire event. The air became less clear as the event progressed, which affected the overall image quality.
